It the cartridge wasn't working well in the first place you have wasted your time.

You need to always refill a cartridge while it is still printing very well, however getting close to empty. When you run a cartridge empty you run the risk of fusing the print head, making the cartridge unusable. If you haven't used the cartridge in some time the print head may be dry.

If you do have a dry print head you can try soaking the printer head of the cartridge in blue Windex for about 10 minutes. remove, pat dry install and run a print head cleaning. Repeat if necessary. However, if you cartridge has not been in use for more than about 30 days, again you are wasting your time.

If it is printing light, you may have bought an inferior ink, there is no fix to this other than a complete replacement of the cartridge.

However I would try a few print head cleanings, to see if in fact the issues is the cartridge is printing light, or the cartridge is not completely printing.

as a side note, never put a cartridge in boiling water. You run a very heavy risk of damaging the electronic components.I bought a ink refill i refilled it and it dont work. what am i doing wrong?
You may have to perform print head cleanings (consult your printer's documentation on how to do so). Sometimes multiple cleanings are needed to get the ink flowing again.

Also, replacement print cartridges often have replacement print heads built-in. If your print heads are worn out, even though there is ink inside, new cartridges might still be needed.
All you do is boil same water, get a container pour the boiling water in until you have a quarter of an inch, now dip the cartridge in and out of the water a few times until you see the black cloud, now take a paper towel fold it in half and dab the cartridge on it and not in the same spot so you can see it getting better and you have a solid line of black, color dab it in a few times do the paper towel dab until you have three solid colors , now try them in the printer. hope it helped it's worked for me for years.
Sounds like the cartridge print head is plugged.
most likely you have dried up ink in your heads. You may have to replace the cartridge instead of refilling it this time. in the future you have to refill before they go completley dry.
