Can you refill a fountain pen's ink with a different color?

i have a fountain pen which i filled with pink ink. i also bought black and blue ink, when the ink runs out, is it safe to refill the ink with blue or black, or will this pen be pink from now on?Can you refill a fountain pen's ink with a different color?
Of course it is safe. You can fill your fountain pen with any kind of different colour you like. No matter if you're using cartridges or liquid ink from the bottle, all you need to do when one colour runs out is to rinse your pen (the part with the writing tip) under the tap, until the colour wears off completely as some of it will be left in it. Then you dry it with a tissue or leave it to get aired for some time and you're ready to load another colour into it.

I do it all the time. I switch between pink%26amp;turqouise, my two favourite ink colours. Can you refill a fountain pen's ink with a different color?
Yes, I've heard that too. In that case, just use a paper tissue with some alcohol on it - it won't harm the nib and it will take off the previous ink colour. Report Abuse

In fact, when switching from lighter (pink) to darker shades (blue, black) you won't have to do that even, as the stronger colour will subdue the pink. My experience:-))))

Thanks for sharing this. I love fountain pens! Report Abuse
