I'd recommend Express Ink Refill -- address below:

Here is another one:

I'd also recommend compatible ink cartridges - here is a link to http://www.castleink.com - they offer both compatible and remanufactured ink cartridges.Where in Montreal can they refill the ink in cartridges for your printer??
refilling ink cartridges is a risky business. read http://ccs-digital.com/refills.html

you are best off with brand new compatible cartridges.

Have any body had succes using refill ink for printer with out damage or has it caused damage?

Refill rarely works for long. You can buy a replacement refill cartridge from a reputable seller. It's a lot cheaper than OEM ink. Not all ink refills are created equal. Some can actually ruin your printhead. This site has all the good ones http://www.inkreviews.com/Have any body had succes using refill ink for printer with out damage or has it caused damage?
Yes you can refill with out damage for 4-5 times.Have any body had succes using refill ink for printer with out damage or has it caused damage?
Here are some problem..

You can only re-fill it once or more on the cartridge. If any small business that claimed to sell ink cartridge that is refill then I be more careful. A guy came to my office because the Lexmark ';high yield'; cartridge is not working. He gave me the cartridge and still doesn't work. The worse part was me shaking it and having inks flying over my pant and shirt. The owner's prievious occupation was not related to printing or similar so how in the world he know about re-filling ink?

Most business that does this are mostly re-sale people who claim to have re-manufacture but sell ';dirty'; cartridge to you. You can't put too much ink in a ';34 or 35 so called ';high yield'; '; or you would have problem like I just have prievious. By the way, it wasn't my decision but my mom lack of preparation for buying ink cartridge. I would stand on your guard when come to refilling ink and look for people success with refilling ink.

UPDATE: Not all ink cartridges are created equal when it come to refilling. Check people's success stories and follow that route.
Using reinkers are a crapshoot. Most printer cartridges can be refilled..but the ink you purchase is another exception and can be messy if the plug is damaged or refilled too much.

Keep in mind that the printer companies make their money selling cartridges and not the printers.

i am a die hard dry toner user not ink.
I have personally had success with the ink refill kits but only after much trial and error. I have found that to refill, you need not stick the applicator into the ink reservoir, just barely into the refill hole corresponding to the correct color. Do not push in! This will cause something inside the cartridge to leak, and it wont stop until it is empty.

Another tip would be to refill a little more often, and don't try to overfill. Fill just until you see ink in the hole, then it is full.
I've tried it a few times and had some success.

Compatible replacement cartridges are way too cheap to bother with refilling. The potential for messy accidents hardly seems worth it though.

If you're having trouble with clogged print heads or nozzles, check out the help section at Inkjet Oasis.
I use a local printer cartridge refill company (Cartridge World)and they are terrific. So far, haven't had any problems. I save my empty cartridge and mark them so I know that they are the same ones I gave them to refill. I certainly don't want to get someone elses old cartridge as they may not have taken good care of them. Sometimes, you can get a coupon for $$ off each refill. Good Luck!!
Yes and it works just fine. Better than paying a buttload for a new cartridge.

there are some good refill kits or bulk ink system online

To be honest, you need to stick to a commercially known supplier that sells quality ink. InkRepublic.com and InkSupply.com are by far the most known Bulk Ink System and Refill suppliers.

Never use refills. They are messy and risky. Read http://ccs-digital.com/refills.html for more info. How much will a refill save anyway? You can buy brand new compatible cartridges for about $2 each at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp
Just go to a computer shop :P

  • Refill Ink Cartridges?

I go through a lot of ink with my printer, and recently when I was in several stores, such as Costco, Microcenter etc. I noticed that they offer ink cartridge refills. I use HP 75XL cartridge.

My First question is Can this cartridge be refilled?

Secondly, How is the quality of refilled ink?

    ThanksRefill Ink Cartridges?
Refilling ink cartridges is very risky. You never know the quality of the ink you are putting in. Some companies just sell the same ink for every printer but there is no question Epson ink is different than HP ink. Even if the ink works, you often run into a color matching problem. And even if that's okay there are even worse dangers which could destroy your printer. The bottom line is that cartridges are deliberately designed not to be refilled for very good reason and you bypass that at your own risk. If you want to save money, but brand new - not refilled or remanufactured - compatibles. For more details read http://www.ccs-digital.com/refills.aspRefill Ink Cartridges?
You'd better change the cartridges, don't refill them. If you refill them, the printer may not recognize the ink levels.

You can buy new compatible or remanufactured ink cartridges, which are cheap and good.

    http://www.123inkcartridges.ca/printer-i鈥?/a>
No doubt that the ink is fine but it is still expensive. I purchased a CISS for my Epson which paid for itself in a month. No more changing carts and running out of ink in the middle of a print job. Check out this site: http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/

What do you think of refill kits for ink cartridges!?

I find the cost of original cartridges too expensive but I don't know how difficult it would be to refill an empty cartridge!

Thank youWhat do you think of refill kits for ink cartridges!?
easy to use i love them they save me moneyWhat do you think of refill kits for ink cartridges!?
It can be messy. I would just buy a new cartridge. If your machine is still under warranty and you use the refill kits, they won't cover the expense of getting it fixed or getting a new machine.
Apart from the mess, you can run into problems with clogged heads eventually. I've tried 'em and have gone back to using generic replacement carts from PrinterInks.com - good value, no compatibility problems %26amp; next day service.
Refill ink is a great way to save money, they are very easy to use. As long as you pay attention to what you are doing everything turns out great. There are some cartridges that when you refill them the printer doesn't recognize them as being filled which means you need to reset the chip. Chip resetters are very inexpensive and well worth it also.
This link will show you how to refil many ink carts, these are the guys I learnt from....

    http://www.inksupply.com/

I agree with you regarding cost, and with others on the pitfalls. It can be messy until you know exactly what you are doing!

That said, I gave up refillng my cartridges, in fact I have not touched my carts for over a year and have printed huge numbers of photo's

    Heres what I do now..

    http://www.inkexpress.co.uk/index.php?p=鈥?/a>

And the results are fabulous, its so cheap I dont care what I print. The savings are great, for example, I get 600ml of ink for 拢20, equal to about 45 cartridges at 拢6.50 per cart. Saving about 拢250 on the cost of carts, after paying 拢20 for ink. My solution was to search for ';Continuous Ink Supply Systems';, define which printers it can be applied to, then pick my printer and system. As you can see from the savings, you can save the cost of a printer in the first year
It depends upon what you are trying to refill. What almost every kit does not tell you is that if the cartridge is not printing well already, it isn't going to work when refilled.

Many newer printers are also smart chipped so they will not function regardless of whether or not you have refilled the cartridge. Given a little more information about the model and or printer cartridge I will be better able to answer.

Keep in mind they can be messy, and you always want one tailored to your specific cartridge.
Not difficult so long as you like having multicoloured finger tips
I HAVE BEEN DOWN THIS ROAD WHEN I USED TO HAVE A LEXMARK PRINTER(NEVER AGAIN) DO YOURSEL A FAVOUR AND GO ON A SITE CALLED UKDVDR AND SELECT COMPATIBALE INK CARTS THEN SEARCH FOR YOUR PARTICULAR PRINTER THEY ARE DIRT CHEAP BUT VERY GOOD, I USUALLY BUY IN BULK TO SAVE COSTS BELIEVE ME ITS MUCH BETTER THAN MESSING ON WITH LOOSE INK!
If your cartridges include a print head then you are reusing a worn out or clogged head when you refill it. The cartridge level indicator usually does not work with refilled ones.
Yes. It is a great way to save money. Try this site. They sell real cheap the refills as well as compatible cartridges. ezeinks.co.uk
Yes it works and very cheap. You can buy refill kits on pc world or tesco, instruction on how to do the refill is included.
Ya i know where your coming from i have a crappy lexmark p915.multi-colour carts are a total rip off.I use refill kits now, they are real easy to fill the carts but they are messy and sometimes i get problems after refilling depending on how low i let the cartridge go etc, etc.I am gonna buy a decent expensive printer and one of those things you attach to the printer that lets you fill each individual ink tank when i get the spare cash.but i'm stickin with the refill kits until then.

If there was a Windows dialogue asking you to continue printing or you wish to change cartridge... you must click yes to continue printing. If you click no, the printer will mark that cartridge as empty and you can't use it anymore.

I think it's possible that's what happened to you.How do I use refilled ink in a Canon MP160?
I have cannon mp 160 and in past i had same problem.i did refiled my ink professionally at ink-world.guy told me guaranteed to work.but now i learn the lesson not to refill any inkjet.specially today's printers are made very smart way.they will force you to use only their genuine ink cartridge.my printer message was all ways saying 'printer can't recognized ink cartridges because it was refiled one.try to use only original one and it should work.

Does any body know how to refill epson ink cartridge t0712?

The answer is don't. Don't bother risking permanently damaging the internal permanent print head. You are likely to experience poor print quality due to the fact that you are using non Epson ink.

The T0712 ink cartridges contain Epson DURABrite Ultra ink. This is pigment-based ink. The ink in those refill kits or from a refill outlet is NOT Epson ink and it is not pigment-based. The mix of different ink in the ink feed system and print head is likely to cause blockages which might not shift, or at least will mean you will have to use ink in using the Head Clean procedure. It's a false economy.

You can get Epson ink carts for 拢6.99 each or a value multi pack - available from www.buyepson.co.uk or possibly cheaper elsewhere, like Amazon.co.uk.Does any body know how to refill epson ink cartridge t0712?

Underneath that cover are the ink cartidges (3). You pop the black clip on the front and that pops the cartridge open, then take that ink container out, pop the new one in, close the clip, close the lid - done.

Refilling ink cartridges for printer: Should I buy with or without chip?

I seek to buy ink jet cartridges for my printer that I can refill. However, the seller is offering two types of cartridges: 1 WITH CHIP AND THE OTHER WITHOUT CHIP.

Not sure if the chip will block me from refilling, or if either of the two will be able to be refilled. Please advise. Thanks and happy new year and beyond.Refilling ink cartridges for printer: Should I buy with or without chip?
The chipped cartridges are for printers that can read the properties of the cartridge to begin with. meaning that if yours has that then tampering with it and refilling will do no good as you'll not be allowed to use it. If your printer isn't capable of reading chips then just get the non chipped cartridges and save maoney as those darn things are STUPID expensive!!!Refilling ink cartridges for printer: Should I buy with or without chip?
the chip tells the printer how many prints can that cartridge take. Sometimes it is a bad idea to buy one with chip cause if the chip says 300 pages then it will print only 300 pages irrispective of how many half pages it has printed. even if u print 1 character per page it will only print 300 characters and then say it requires ink. But HP syas always use it with the chip. so if u want a cheap solution go for without chip.
a chip will give you a hard time when refilling, however without a chip your printer will not recognize the cartridge.

I assume you have a Canon printer.

WIthout a chip, you need to remove and tape the old chip onto the new cartridge are reset it.
I think you need the chip for the printer to recognize it. I bought some non HP cartridges for my printer and has to adjust the chip before the printer knew it had the cartridge.

Which HP All-in-One Printer with inexpensive ink refill?

We want an HP all-in-one (no fax needed, only a copier/scanner/photo printer), just for a few documents and maybe up to 20 photos per month, and we would like to find one that doesn't cost a fortune to refill the ink! Also, it would be nice to hear from people who have certain models to know which one is the most reliable and prints nice pictures! Thanks!Which HP All-in-One Printer with inexpensive ink refill?
most hp printers share the same ink, either 21 %26amp; 22 or 74 %26amp; 75. HP's website listed them as having the same price. the refills are based on your refilling shops as most printer manufacturers don't support refilling and even voids the warranty if you mess up the printer due to refills. if you really are planning to save as much, you can also try epson printers and have them fitted with continuous ink system (cis). it is a modification where you ';enlarge'; the printer's ink to have more volume of refill ink feeded directly to your printer, the lowest priced for all ink replacement technology.

I think you have to make your own hole there and there's a rubber also included in the package to be put on the hole you made after refilling it. Here is the link for the cartridge and chip :)

http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/Canon_pi鈥?/a>Canon mp268 ink counter reset after refill?
i hate printers! if youve got a Cannon you should have an advisor or something that is saying hey your out of ink. well when it pops up you should see something you can click. just look around on the Cannon advisor thing and you should find reset. if not look for a reset button on your printer. if nothing else just unplug your printer from the wall and your PC for like 30 seconds. if that doesn't work go dig up the book to your printer..
You cant. Ink levels on any make of printer never show as full once refilled unless you have chipped cartridges and and use a chip re-setter. As long as it prints that's the main as a lot of printers - Epson and Lexmark particularly - won't print with refills full stop.
Your replacement inkjet cartridge may be defective, so I would try replacing it first. If that doesn't work, then I would contact Cannon tech support and get them to trouble shoot it, and if they cant get them to replace the printer. Good luck!

HP 75 is the right color ink cartridge for your printer.

But if HP 93 can be used in your printer, it seems the HP 93 is compatible ink cartridge, which can be used in a lot of different printers.
well, that cartridge is not designed for your printer. your printer can only take #75 cartridges, and the number has no indicater of the quality.

  • How do i refill Dell AIO 926 ink cartridge?

    Black Instructions

    1. Put the cartridge on some paper towels in an area where you can tolerate a spill.

    2. Peal off the top label.

    3. Fill the syringe with 15ml. of black ink.

    4. Very S-L-O-W-L-Y inject ink into the hole closest to the copper strip. Any hole will actually do, they all go to the same sponge, but the first hole is closest to the printhead.

    5. When finished, replace the top label or leave it off (it will make no difference in the printing).

    6. Replace the cartridge and run 1 - 3 cleaning cycles as per printer instructions.

For best results, leave cartridge in printer for 8 hours after refilling so the ink can saturate the entire sponge.

Note: On some of the newer Dell cartridges the filling holes are very small and need to be drilled out larger so the syringe needle can enter the cartridges.

NO!!!!!!!! Thats why I'm asking how to get ink off your hands they are a FREAKING MESS!!!!!!Are those ink refill kits for printer cartridges any good?
    They are fine.
I found them messy and also had trouble with ink leaking out of the cartridge and flooding my printer. Instead, I found a cheap place to buy ink. Their cartridges aren't brand names but they work great on my HP and Epson printers and they are a fraction of the price! Go to www.myinks.com
I have heard they are messy and not worth the effort. I, myself, have never tried them. I assume that with practice, you can get good at replacing the ink. I would think that the recycled cartridges are probably a better bet.
They are messy and by the way, your cartridge may have this strip on it.The strip tells how many copies the cartridge will make. When it's out,it's out, cartridge won't work. You will have to buy a new one. Go ahead spend the money.I tryed to refill mine and all I did was make a mess and had to buy a new cartridge anyway. The refill kit may work with some cartridge's,but not with all. It's best to read the directions that come with your printer and the directions with the refill kit.Cartridges are exspensive so I suggest doing an internet search to find the cheapest price.
usually they are difficult to use, sometimes messy, and the quality of printing tends to be poor
    no idea
We have tried two different brands. They weren't too bad to fill, but the quality of the print on the page was pretty bad ... uneven and streaky.
No, you'd be much better off replacing your old ones with new ones.
only for the seller, do not waste your time= money on paper and such. Go 1st class and expect the best.
Read the instructions, and do it next to the sink with paper towels, and dont overfill, not to hard
NO, I have never had any good luck with them, they are very messy and I would just rather buy a new cartiage when needed.
NO, they bite...they ';gum'; up your inkjets and the quality bites.

No! Order more of the proper ink. Just because something says it's non-toxic doesn't mean you need to put it in your body...especially something permanent.
you must not be a real tattoo artist if you're actually asking this question..............
don't take any risks just because it's nontoxic/organic doesnt mean that it won't harm your skin. wait until you get more outline ink
Is this a serious questions? Are you a professional? If so, please let me know where you work so I can be sure to never go there.
And some people make ink out of bic pens, ashes and shampoo; but it does not mean it is good to do.

I see you have no respect for the profession of tattooing.

    Can we all say it together? ';Scratcher';
When it says non toxic, that's in reference to if you eat it. There's a difference if you put it straight into the bloodstream.

I guess it would be more convinient to use compatible (non-Epson or HP) cartriges, they are much cheaper so you don't have to worry about refilling. I personaly save about 70% of price by buying compatibles.

Try this one - http://inkjet.noneto.com - I personally use it to buy it, very cheap and good.
depends were you are, but there are many places that do it. I live in huntington beach, CA and have 2 or 3 shops close.

Walgreens will also do many cartridges. black for 10 and color for 15.
Walgreen's refills inkjet cartridges for about $10.

PrintPal.com can be accessed online and will refill your empty cartridge for about $9 or sell you a new reconditioned and filled cartridge for about $8.

Which printer is the most economical? has the cheapest ink refill?

suggestions?Which printer is the most economical? has the cheapest ink refill?
You can either buy a cheap printer with expensive ink (inkjet) or a more expensive printer with cheaper ink (laser). You're either paying the costs up front or over the life of the printer. So you have to decide by your needs and your volume.

Lasers have sharper text and are generally faster than inkjets. While toner cartridges are more expensive, they print more pages, so the cost per page is lower. But you pay more up front. Inkjets are better for photos and cheaper for low volume. Personally, I use both. I have an inkjet for photos, a color laser for high volume color jobs and a black laser for regular text. I use the black laser most often.

You can get a great color laser today for about $300. Toner cartridges are about $200 but they last for about 10,000 pages. You can also get refills for about $50. You can get a good color laser for $150. Refills are under $100 for all 4 colors. But for photos you really need an inkjet.

As someone who was in the computer hardware business for years (though I rarely sold printers since I couldn't compete with the crazy rebates) I have always recommended Epson. The print quality is excellent, even on plain paper. I have photos I printed on a 640 about ten years ago hanging in my office which still look good, though not as good as the ones from the CX8400 on glossy paper. The warranty is excellent. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I had one customer who needed this. He called one afternoon and had the replacement two days later. Another client bought a Canon. It needed two repairs within a few months. Each time it was taken to the repair center, then picked up a few days later. This client runs a specialty printing business and this really hurt. They have since bought an Epson CX5000 and have had no down time since.

All name brand ink is expensive, but you can get cheap new replacement cartridges for Epson (not refills which I never recommend) for under $5 at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp

The CX8400 scanner/copier/printer was on sale at circuitcity.com for $60 with free shipping. It uses 3 colors plus black.

The RX595 scanner/copier/printer also prints on DVDs. It uses 5 colors plus black and has even higher photo quality. It's on sale for $80 after $55 instant rebate.

How do I refill Brother LC970 Ink Cartridges for model 135c?

The cartridge sits in a case, which you will need to flip open like a book. Before you do this you will need to cut the label at the bottom as it is preventing the case from opening.

Flip open the cartridge casing (shell).

Remove the cartridge from the casing (shell).

There is a round hole (well) in the top of the cartridge. Inside the hole or well is a rubber stopper. Use a thumb drill and drill through the rubber stopper.

Note: Do not bump or press the ';pressure release button';.

Put the filling needle onto the syringe and fill the syringe with ink.

Insert the needle through the drilled stopper hole and into the cartridge body. Be sure the needle (even though it is blunt) does not press up against the bag and punctures it.

S-l-o-w-l-y inject 10cc of ink into the cartridge bag.

Remove the syringe with needle and Seal the hole using the candlewax.

Place the cartridge back into it's casing (shell) and use a piece of tape to hold the two sides of the casing (shell) together.

Replace the cartridge(s) and run 1 - 3 cleaning cycles as per printer instructions. How do I refill Brother LC970 Ink Cartridges for model 135c?

Can i refill the ink of my printer for life?

Every ink cartridge can be refilled only a certain number of times. Usually, the number is somewhere around 4-6, but some can be refilled much more, and some just don't take to the refill.

There's no particular difference between models, it's the individual cartridge that determines how many refills it can take.ReCan i refill the ink of my printer for life?
I agree - why buy a new chunk of plastic at $8-$25 just for 4 ml of ink? Worse yet, why buy a new cartridge when only ONE color is out in a multi-color cartridge?!

Your success refilling cartridges will depend upon the cartridge type. Some cartridges are just ink ';containers'; - they do not have the actual ink jet nozzles in them. These can be refilled many times without problem. However, these often include a chip designed that counts how much you've used them, and when you've used about 90% of the ink, the chip tells the printer the cartridge is empty. After refilling, this chip can be ignored on SOME printers by pressing certain buttons. But usually they now require resetting - otherwise your printer just ignores your now FULL cartridge, saying its still empty. This chip can usually be reset to show FULL with a special device, but these devices are not cheap -- so it requires refilling a LOT of cartridges to pay for one of them.

If your printer uses a cartridge that has the ink-jets built into the cartridge (HP does this a lot), you may have less luck refilling, especially if you run them ';dry'; (until they have no more ink) before refilling. However if you stop soon enough (at the low ink warning) they can be refilled successfully.

I've personally found refilling both types of cartridges to be quite messy. For this reason, I stopped buying ink and syringes. I shopped around and found a local cartridge refilling company that charges me about $2 more than it would cost me to refill them myself. They have the chip resetting machines, and spare chips if something goes wrong resetting it. They guarantee the refills (though I've never had one fail).

If I were printing photographs that I wanted to come out perfectly, I would only use manufacturers' original cartridges - because I believe there are slight variations in the ink colors from other suppliers. I've been very pleased using refilled cartridges for regular business graphics and snapshots for about five years. And I've saved hundreds of dollars doing it.

NOTE: some of the large office supply stores in the U.S. sell refilled/ recycled cartridges. These work fine, but here they seem to cost about twice as much as my local refiller charges, and don't seem to be any better.

WARRANTY: There is some question if a printer manufacturer will honor the warranty if refilled cartridges have been used. I suspect they will NOT if they detect their use - since printer manufacturers make a huge profit on ink cartridges. Can i refill the ink of my printer for life?
Get a CISS and exchange the tanks they supply for 55 gallon drums. They should last you for life.

AND TAKE NO NOTICE OF THE CARTRIDGE WORLD ADVICE THEY CHARGE MORE TO REFILL SOME CARTRIDGES THAN THEY COST NEW, THE PLACE IS PURE ROBBERY EXAMPLE CANON CARTRIDGE NEW AND GENERIC 4 FOR A TENNER CARTRIDGE WORLD 3.50 to be refilled for one
Log onto cartridge World, they do refilled cartridges off the shelf. Not messy, guaranteed and cheaper.
Warning.....This is a very messy job. If you don't get it right the cartridges will leak inside the printer. I think there are some office supply stores that can do this for you. The refill kit should have instructions on this procedure. Good luck.
You can go to Walgreens and they refill it for you for around 5 bucks I think, much cheaper then buying a new cartridge for around 40. Refilling it yourself can be a messy task so it's best to let a professional do it.
If you buy a kit that includes a syringe. Drill a small hole at the top of the cartridge , inject the ink slowly into it . Wipe the outside of the cartridge and seal the hole with a blob of araldite.

This is a less messy way than that recommended by the ink suppliers. But wear plastic gloves anyway.

Anyone know of how to refill ink cartridges for samsung ml-1740, or the portable ip90v printers?

I would like to find a cost efficient way to refill the ink... if possible... so far I cant find anyone who does these models..Anyone know of how to refill ink cartridges for samsung ml-1740, or the portable ip90v printers?
You don't want to do the Samsung. It's a lot more than drilling and filling. There are parts that need to be replaced after each cycle of toner. It's messy and best left to a pro. To save money, buy remanufactured cartridges.

The Canon is another story. Very easy to refill. Turn the cartridges over and drop the ink onto the pads, it will soak into the cartridge. These cartridges are tiny, so they don't hold much ink. GO SLOW and work over newspapers or paper towels. Oh, expect to get inky.

    Problem using refill ink cartridges?

Any solution to this problem would be appreciated? When replacing with a new cartridge everything is fine.Problem using refill ink cartridges?
the newer lexmarks will do that. did you try to print anyway?

if it prints, you're good. if not, return the cartridge.

the thing you'll need to be aware of is that it will always show empty once it's refilled. you will need to watch your printing for signs it is getting low again (streaks, weird colours, light colours).Problem using refill ink cartridges?
Epson printer cartridges have a micro-chip in side of them.

It keeps track of how much ink is used, like a counter that just counts, but not really knowing the true level of ink inside. You need to find out if Lexmark is doing the same thing.
Most Lexmark cartridges have a little chip in them which keeps track of how much has been printed. It shouldn't matter insofar as the cartridge will still print, you'll just have to keep an eye on your print quality. If your printer refuses to work, though, you'll have to get hold of a chip resetter.

PS These cartridges eventually get sludged-up as some c rap is left in the bottom each time one runs out. You might find it better in the end to get some generic refilled cartridges, I've used PrinterInks.com many times without problems.
If the ink cartridge has a micro chip in it then you need a chip re-setter.
The microchip needs to be reset. Google for your particular cart. %26amp; scan for reset inquiries and answers, I have seen it for the HP chipsets.
When you refill a cartridge, you do not reset the level sensor. Sometimes there is a way to reset the cartridge. If the ink is being delivered properly, this is just a nuisance.

To recycle or throw out previously refilled ink cartridge?

I have several inkjet cartridges that I have refilled myself. Can these still be taken to a cartridge recycling center, or have I rendered these ';unrecyclable';?To recycle or throw out previously refilled ink cartridge?
some might still be reusable while others might be beyond repair depending on the status of the cartridges. just bring it to the center and they can identify the recyclables. To recycle or throw out previously refilled ink cartridge?
If you want to recycle, you can take your old cartridge to places like Wallgreen, CVS, Officemax, Officedepot, and they will give you a discount on the purchase of a new cartridge, I know for a fact that with officemax, you can become a member of their club, and you can bring in up to 10 cartridges per week, up to 40 per month, so you would get all that money back at the end of the month.
';Recycling'; doesn't always mean taking something somewhere to let other melt it into something else, it also means using something intended for one thing for something else.

If you have kids you can wash those old things out really really well (think hot tap water %26amp; soap, soaked) and recycle them into blocks.
Because you've refilled them these cartridges are no longer considered ';virgin'; cartridges. But you can still sell them back so they can be recycled. Because they are not virgins, you will not get as much for them - but they can still be recycled. Here is one recycling program that you may want to check out: http://www.castleink.com/_recycle-ink-ca鈥?/a>
it depends how many times you refilled your cartridges. after a while the nozzels get clogged and are usless for refilling. Ive refilled one cartridge 6 times and it was ok. but up to 3 times is all you should refill. To be ';green'; yes take them to a disposal center were thay can dispose of them properly
Yes, and yes, would be the answer, but take them to them anyways because they would have the proper waste disposal for those used cartridges.

Does any one know which ink refill kits work best with lexmark printer cartidges?

    Hi,

I personally like the ones available from http://www.worldclassinks.com However, if you have never refilled a cartridge I would like to state that it is by far cleaner, easier, and many times better to buy a cartridge that they have already remanufactured. When you get a new printer you get what is called a teaser cartridge. Maybe 50% full if you are lucky. Their remanufactured ones are 100% full. Refilling is a pain and very messy. If you must do this, it is best to lightly soak the bottom of the cartridge in acetate (common finger nail polish remover) for a while to remove the old ink and paper dust build up in the jets first! Be careful as this will ruin most any table or other surface you get it on. Then blot it dry on a Scott brand or other lint free absorbent material to absorb the remaining acetate. When refilling, fill it as full as you can, then wait 10 minutes and fill it again, so the ink can absorb into the felt like material in the cartridge, or you will be disappointed in the low levels of ink you spent so much time putting in. A good rule of thumb is to do it twice to get the most capacity the cartridge can hold. When you are done, do not leave that little hole open in the top that you used to put the ink in, this will only cause it to dry out again that much faster. Hope this helps

refill cartridges only with the manufacturer recommended mixture of ink for printer model. store brand ink mixture may be too thin or too thick which will result in damage of printer head. money saved on ink will probably be used in paying for replacement or repair of damaged printer head.

In my experience HP ink cartridges are virtually always refillable. Typically Epson models present the most problems since they use a special chip. Generally speaking I always disable my ink monitoring software just in case. When I start to see the printouts looking somewhat faded I know it's time to replace the ink cartridges. What types of printers can use refilled ink cartridges?
    Hi,

This all depends on the model/type of printer you have.

First off using remanufactured or compatible inks and toner does not void your warranty. Here is the court ruling that states that is illegal.

    Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Mo鈥?/a>

Going to a simple re-filler to refill you inks is a mistake. Your printer like many new ones come with chip on the cartridge. Without replacing the chip, your printer may not recognize the cartridge. You may be able to get around this by simply pressing ';ok'; and it may print anyways.

Your best bet is to find a retailer that replaces the chips as well as guarantees your satisfaction. Many refillers will not guarantee you will be happy with your purchase.

This store gives a 60-day satisfaction guarantee and 1-year defect warranty on all their compatible products. Check for your ink model.

    http://store.Express-Inks.com/?Click=305鈥?/a>
Don not refill the ink cartridges, if you want to save the ink and money, buy new compatible or remanufactured ink cartridges.

Now you printer read your ink as empty, so you have to install the cartridges again,

    1) Turn on the printer; take out the cartridges and shake them

    2) Turn off the printer for a few minutes

    3) Turn on the printer, when it says ';insert inks';, and then insert the compatible cartridges one by one, making sure the cartridges are sitting completely in the slots.

If it still not working, you have to buy a chip resetter, which can reset the printer counter.
Honestly, you're always better off purchasing the genuine ink made by the manufacturer of your printer.

Ink refills are much cheaper, and you'll probably find some people who swear by them, however, the quality and reliability will be much inferior. From personal experience, you may find that the ink on your printouts fade much faster, or that the print quality itself will be poor at best. This may also void the warranty on your printer as well. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Yes, HP/Epson, etc make a killing from their genuine ink sales, however, you'll have the best quality and performance by purchasing the genuine ink made for your printer, instead of using cheap refills. I would not recommend this to anyone.

How do you refill canon ip3000 ink cartage?

You can check out my website at www.inkrefillservice.com if you need the refill service, $5.25 for each color and $7.90 for the black. we refill these set of cartridges using our portable machines which is less messy as there is no need to phisically drill any hole to gain entry into the cartridge (no midifications to the cartridges at all), because manually, you would have to push in a ball bearing to inject the ink in the cartridge, followed by a trusty plug to seal up the hole after refilling. Or you will end up with seriously leaking cartridges. How do you refill canon ip3000 ink cartage?

Are store brand cartridges as good on color quality as name brands? Can refilling ink cartridges damage your Printer? Is store brand ink cartridges as good as name brands?
    Name brands are definately better.

However, I doubt if copy brands will damage anything. In my experience with HP printers the copy brands are low quality. They often fail to work at all.

I always buy branded carts - but from ebay - that way they are often cheaper than copy brands - but still original quality.

One issue with copy brands is colour fading over time. A lot of copy brand printouts fade over time. Can refilling ink cartridges damage your Printer? Is store brand ink cartridges as good as name brands?
refills never work, and can lead to damage, also many of the newer cartridges have a microchip that says when they are empty, and no matter if you refill they will still report empty.

as for the store brand its hit or miss. I've used Pitney Bowes branded cartridges and they seem to have worked fine. I bet the Staple or Office Max version will be very similar as well

Before you buy a printer find out how much ink refills cost and how often people need to change them. Companies like Lexmark seem to sell the cheapest printer only to overcharge on ink. HP seems to be decent and they even promote recycling.
If done wrong then yes they can. as for the same color if done right then it will be just as good as out of the box. I find that the difference in ink really makes no change in the quality of your photos. hope this helps

  • Is it true that refilling ink cartridges will damage a printer?

I fear using my printer now since i heard that using refilled cartridge can cause damage to printer . Does it mean my printer will be junk soon as well as my ink refill? Tnx.Is it true that refilling ink cartridges will damage a printer?
    Some say, ';Yes, it could ruin your printer.';

    Others say, ';No, it won't.';

    Some say, ';Yes, it ruined MY printer.';

    Others say, ';No, mine is working fine.';

    I say:

Consider how much it would cost to replace your printer. How much is your printer worth? How much does a new cartridge cost? How much would you save by refilling your cartridge yourself?

If your printer broke, would the savings have been worth it?

    But do be careful...

Epson printers use dye-based ink. Newer HP printers use ';pigment'; based ink. Older printers use water-based ink. Some inks are more viscous (thicker) than other.

There is a reason for the differences as some thicker inks will not work as well in some printheads.

So...would your savings be worth the risk?

hmm....Is it true that refilling ink cartridges will damage a printer?
Bah ! I have filled so many of those. If so I would have had busted junk a long time ago.
People have expressed a legitimate concern as to whether the use of compatible cartridges in their printer will void their printer's warranty. The answer is NO!

What follows is a partial quote from the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act, which protects your rights and your warranty.

    MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY IMPROVEMENT ACT

    United States Code Annotated

    Title 15 Commerce and Trade

    Chapter 50 Consumer Product Warranties

    15 Section 2032

... (c) No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumer's using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name; except that the prohibition of this subsection be waived by the commission if:

    1) The warrantor satisfies the Commission that the warranted product will function properly only if the article or service so identified is used in connection with the warranted product, and

    2) the Commission finds that such a waiver is in the public interest.

More simply put, this means that your printer warranty cannot be voided just because you choose to use compatible products unless the manufacturer can prove that the compatible product caused direct damage to your printer. In cases such as this, the manufacturer may choose not to repair your printer but your warranty would remain in effect for all other warranty issues.
Refilling will plug up your printer's internal printhead. It depends on the inks used. If you have an internal printhead, it's a chance you take, and if you have cartridges with the heads on them like HP products. You will only plug up the cartridges. You can refill these all you want, you will just throw it out anyway if it plugs up.

After market inks cost less for a reason, they don't have the quality, accuracy of color, or additives that keeps your printheads from plugging up.

That's why they even suggest using their paper and ink catridges to get quality pictures and prints. That is if you want quality picutes and keep your printhead clean. This could get costly.

If you have an internal printhead like a Canon. You can still mix it up to save money, I use refills for regular text and docutments, then I use the manufacture's to print photos and if there's any build up on the print head it will keep it clean.
Bah! The printer manufacturers would like you to believe just that! That is how they make their big $... I have always bought refills for mine (for more than 4 years) and they work great...and save me about 30 to 35 dollars a cartridge! Check this place out!
Most of the time the worst thing that will happen when you refill a cartridge is the quality will suck, or at the very worst it will ruin the cartridge (not the printer)

Relax and use you printer. If you don't the cartridge is going to dry up. If you are getting refills, make sure they are from a reputable place and they provide you with instructions on how to clean your printer, as well as how to install and reset ink levels if necessary.

Just relax, it is okay. Many people use refill, there are businesses based upon refilling. If they ruined printers, they would no longer exist.
no it wont damage ur printer but ur cartridge only.. enjoy ur refill
No. Refills work just fine. A little messy every now and then, but other then that all works well.
Haha that's so silly, why would it damage your printer?
Simple answer - sometimes. Easy answer, don't refill them - get remanufactured cartridges from www.worldclassink.com or some other online ink vendor. They professionally refill inkjet cartridges, and companies that do it all the time generally don't use crappy cheap ink, which most refill kits do.

I've refilled ink cartridges before, and only once did it cause a problem. When a cartridge is run dry, it can get damaged. Such was the case with mine. I refilled it, but when it primed the cart. it broke something, because the inkjet head had ';fused'; from overheating leaving the ink nowhere to go.

    Hope that helps.

15 years in computer service and sales.
No it wont. the company tells that it does as their business is coming down due to the refilling. My Printer is 5 years old and I have refilled the cartridge more than 4 times. No damage has ever hapenned. Don't worry
Refilled cartridges have been known to leak, so YES! they will then ruin you printer .
Not necessarily, but it's possible. It depends on many variables. As the technology improves, many manufacturers are putting in safeguards to prevent you from refilling the cartridges. HP's newers printers, for example, log information in the system about how much ink you have left in the cartridge. When it gets down to a critical level, the printer will no longer allow you to print. This is to protect the (non-replaceable) printheads. It also keeps you from being able to refill the tanks, because when the refill companies refill the cartridges/ink tanks, they are only putting ink in it. They have no way to reset the computer chip on the cartridge that is logging how many times the nozzles have been fired. (This is what gives you the estimated ink level - the nozzle firing count from that chip). The cartridge will still read as empty when you put it back in the printer, and the printer (those newer models) will not print.

Although refilling the cartridge will damage the printheads, that is probably not a major concern with cartridges that have them built in, since you are replacing the printhead any time you buy a new cartridge. The printheads are designed to work with the ink the manufacturer puts in the cartridge, not a 3rd party or generic ink. If the manufacturer sells their own ink for refill, that should be fine. If your printer has built-in printheads, though, you shouldn't take the risk of refills. Costs of sending the printer for repair to have the printheads replaced will be out of your own pocket, and the cost of that is often more than the cost of buying a new printer.

You should also consider what you use the printer for. If it's for home use, i.e. printing receipes and emails from friends, quality is not a big concern. If you use the printer for anything where you need good quality, i.e. resumes, business letters, photos etc, stick with the originals. No matter what claims the refill companies make, the quality will never be as good as buying the real thing. Refills usually run out faster than originals, as well.
refills wrecked my printer but i didnt have a pro fill them a friend filled them so maybe he did something wroong or maybe all refills do this who knows but i always buy new now

Calidad ink refill kits for canon printers?

has anyone ever used this kind ink refills? do they really work to do it on your own??Calidad ink refill kits for canon printers?
You can consider Universal Refill Kit, which can be used in Epson, Canon, Brother, HP, Lexmark, Xerox, Compaq and Okidata Black Cartridges.

What happens if I refill the Yellow and Cyan printer cartridges with black ink?

I have a Brother 420-CN which stops printing black if any of the color cartridges is empty.

Even though I rarely print color, the Cyan and Yellow cartridges are empty now and as a consequence of the design of the printer I am no longer able to print black anymore. I don't want to buy or refill the color cartridges, because they are expensive and I don't use them. I only want to be able to print black.

The question is: does anyone know how to circumvent this problem? What if I refill the emptied color cartridges with black ink (the same kind of ink that I use for refilling the black cartridge)? Has anyone tried this? Thank you for your hep! What happens if I refill the Yellow and Cyan printer cartridges with black ink?
    Well there are 2 consequences:

    1) Everytime you want to print the black, you will need to change the font to yellow / cyan since the printer doesnt know it has the wrong ink in it.

    2) Black ink is normally pigmented and color inks are normally dye-based. Printer manufacturers specially formulate them to interact so that you get nice black lines without inks smudging into one another.

-%26gt; so... if yours is this kind of printer, the moment you pour black ink into your yellow and cyan cartridges, they will interact and gunk up your whole system as there will be some leftover yellow/ cyan ink in your system. My advice is not to do it... really. What happens if I refill the Yellow and Cyan printer cartridges with black ink?
I guess you know that when you print you mix colours, to get certain results, black is used as a toner to get colur and should not be added to your cyan or yellow catridges, as the compuer will just use black to mix the colours and so all images will turn out black.

The images will print but the cyan and yellow are still used even if you don't notice; I haven't tried but I know people who have it is best just to print in grayscale.
    Something very odd.

Seriously though, it shouldn't fit. That or it will have odd consequences like spraying out black randomely or maybe damaging the printer.
All that will happen is that everything will be always printed in black it won't harm the printer. If you try and print something in color like a picture it will just be a black square and you won't be able to see it.

Is the quality of a refilled ink cartridge comparable to a new one?

Ink cartridges for inkjet printers can cost around 65 dollars while refillable services can cut costs nearly in half. But does the quality match up? I've never had my ink cartridges refilled because I fear it will effect my design work. Refill or don't refill? Is the quality of a refilled ink cartridge comparable to a new one?
Refill if its offered. All the way. The saving is because they dont have to package and ship the new cartridge, not because the quality isn't comparable. they actually make quite a bit MORE off of refilled cartridge. Is the quality of a refilled ink cartridge comparable to a new one?
I, personally, am not a fan of refilled cartridges as I don't believe the quality of the ink is as good as the OEM ink.

Based on past experience selling both, and using both, I continue to purchase the branded ink.

Case in point: I was printing 15 high quality full-color calendars that I had designed for my daughters' varsity swim team. Our school colors are red and yellow... the calendar background was red fading into yellow.

I ran out of my red ink (this happened to be an Epson printer) and popped in my generic 'remanufactured' ink. The difference in the quality of the colors was truly noticeable. The red that was so vivid and ';RED'; was now somewhat washed-out looking and more towards a pink-ish red.

I finished that one print, went back to the store and purchased the Epson ink to finish the project.

If I were doing design type work, I'd stick to the brand stuff.. just my opinion.

    Good Luck!

all i used is after market / generic ink refills they work great without the price try http://www.printpal.com/card15 u get a 15% discount off their allready low prices and shipping is fast 2-3 days
That all depends on what Brand of Printer you are using and what you are printing out, if it just for home use and your printer is out of warranty then refilling is a good way to save money
I used them on my Lexmark and it didnt work afterwards

But on my HP they work fine.

Is it possible to refill my ink cartridges? myself?

ive got a canon pixma ip1200 printer, but as ime in buisness i use a lot of ink on adverts, so use lots of cartridges, and at 拢13-拢14 each its quite expensive, is it possible to refill the ink myself,

or can i buy a refill kit?

also there is a computer shop near me what reckon they can refill any ink cartridge for cheap. is it possible? Is it possible to refill my ink cartridges? myself?
yes, but messyIs it possible to refill my ink cartridges? myself?
Yes there is available refill kit, with injector and instructions, since you are consuming a lot of ink in your business, find store that can offer you a whole sale price for a bulk of ink. but don't overstock, ink cartridge has an expiration date.
two days ago I bought a refill kit, plastic gloves included I now have ink stained hands, ink stains everywhere and it did not work. I have tried cartridge shops and the results were not good I will now only buy genuine products and only print what is necessary.
Why don't you get a copier instead? That'd work out cheaper.
HI. Have refilled my hp printer many times till the belt inside broke %26amp; I am refilling my Epson DX6050 using refillable cartridges, with bulk ink. You will need 4 sringes , make up a holder for the cartdrige %26amp; a Pr. of rubber gloves .

With care %26amp; practice you can Quickly fill them %26amp; clean out the sringes for reuse. I mainly use my printer for photos %26amp; can not tell the diference in quality from bought cartridges.

    Alex
it is possible and you can do it yourself. however, companies like canon, hp and epson are using their own tested and state of the art inks that will almost always be superior to any refills. also, once the refilled ink spills and damage your printer, they might not accept the warranty for it.
You can buy refil kits in tesco UK .... i tried it and made a hell of a mess.
you can but it is so messy it is better to go buy a new one don`t change it when the pop up tells you to you will always get loads more out off it
I gave up with refilling, have not touched my 'carts' for 18 months, but have used about 70 carts-worth of ink.

    Look at this....

Also, saved myself a few hundred quid!!!!
you can buy a kit or go to the shop and see if they would refill them for you. In USA we get free movie rentals for recycling our cartridges. (If you take them to Movie Gallery)
yes mate, there is refill kits avalible for most makes of cartridges including epson, lexmark and canon

howver as i have found out myself,if they are filled incorrectly you can get pretty bad printing results and also you can get pretty messy aswell, the first time i refilled my cartridges i was covered in ink, infact i think i git more ink on my face than in the cartridge

there are shops that will do the refill for you, this is a better option as they use better quality ink and also they use a proper machine specificly designed for filling cartridges

the prices for filling can range from 拢6 to 拢15,for example a lexmark no.27 costs 拢8 at my local cartridge swap shop

have you checked the internet for good cheap compatibles for your printer, try http://www.refreshcartridges.co.uk/canon鈥?/a> for some cheap canon replacement cartridges

    any problems let me know

    good luck mate!
you can get refill kits, some have a chip that needs to be reset but that should be part of the kit,
I get my cartridges refilled by computer shop and its a lot cheaper. Quality just as good.
Yes you can refill those. also i just started seeing places like CVS and riteaide doing refills so if you have one there try them or do it yourself it;s not that hard...
    Yes, it is possible.

You can buy a refill kit, or, you can ask the computer shop next near you to do it for you.

I can get the ink into the reservoir tank but i cant get the ink to go down the tubes from the tank to the cartridges. Any ideas? How do i refill an empty CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System)?
It really depends upon what system you are using as well as what ink.

I use canon s520 (with a homemade system - mostly aquarium tubing) and clover inks.

that the reservoirs first need to be above the printer and a good section of hose vertical to allow gravity to do some of the pumping for you.

It also helps to slightly angle the reservoirs.

As an odd little quirk some will not work with full reservoirs. when filling the reservoir pour very stloly to allow the ink to flow into the tubes. How do i refill an empty CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System)?

What is the difference between refurbished & refilled ink cartridges?

I have a new HP Color LaserJet 1600 printer and need a black ink cartridge. Are refilled or refurbished worth buying or will I be sorry? Should I just buy a new one? They are pretty expensive but I don't want to damage my printer. What is the difference between refurbished %26amp; refilled ink cartridges?
A refilled ink cartridge is simply a used cartridge refilled with the same type (or similar) ink.

Refurbished cartridges require parts to make them work again properly, such as a new ribbon, rollers, metering chip, or some other tangible peice aside from the ink. What is the difference between refurbished %26amp; refilled ink cartridges?
Just so you know, using refilled/refurbished cartridges may void the HP warranty. Be careful...

What should i do when i refill printer colour ink wrongly?

http://www.inkrepublic.com/members/nozzl鈥?/a>What should i do when i refill printer colour ink wrongly?
1st of all yur a flipping idiot, how moronic do you have to be to not differentiate the colour from the black ink...

2ndly it should say colour or black ink

3rdly if it doesnt have that you idiot, it right one should be black ink, you moronic idiot i flipping hate you you crack head i want to eat your soul and slap you across the face so many times until you come to you stupid moronic senses.
with most ink cartridges you can not get the ink out with normal tools. I would say you have to buy new cartridges. besides it is never a good idea to wash a cartridge, and you would have to to clean out the wrongly placed ink. sorry!
There's really no way to correct a mistake like that.

Toss it and buy a new cartridge.

Can somebody tell can you refill the printer ink not buying the new one?

Not all can be refilled. Some Epson, some canon and some HP cannot be refilled. If you would be so kind as to post your model number I would be better able to provide you with instruction. Can somebody tell can you refill the printer ink not buying the new one?
Yes surely. U may go to the nearest computer store and say them to refill it.Can somebody tell can you refill the printer ink not buying the new one?
Of course, however I buy my ink from : http://www.cellphoneshop.net/

The ink is cheap enough that it is not worth refilling cartridges.
yes you can but it depends on what printer you have got if you have a epson the carts are chiped so you will need to get a extra machine that resets the chip so it tells the printer that the cart is full again if you are in the uk go to this web site ok http://www.jrinkjet.co.uk/
If you buy the refills for your model, most of the time you just peel up the paper label and use the kit to refill the color. It really depends on the model of your printer. Most have a particular way to go about reinserting the ink cartridge so the computer will recognize it as being a new one. I would try doing a search for your model.

I never really had the best of luck refilling the color cartridge, the black ink is the easiest to deal with.
Yes you can. You can get the ready refilling kit in market. or You can get it done from market.
You buy a re-inking kit. This will have some ink, a drill to open up the cartridge and an application syringe. There will be some plugs to reseal the holes that you make, although some holes should not be closed. Follow the instructions for your own cartridge very carefully as each one is different. You might also get some cleaning solution to unblock the jets. Sometimes they work and sometimes they will just make a mess. The quality is never as good but if that is not so important to you then refilling is a good option.

Some of the newer cartridges can't be refilled, due to a sensor built into them that shows them to be empty even after they have been refilled.

Refilling is a messy and expensive process. Your best bet is to can your inkjet and get a laser, for normal printing, both color and b/w are very reasonable lately. For photos it's still inkjet or nothing.

  • I bought a refill kit for ink on my Epson printer, and Win XP Pro doesn't detect the ';full'; cartridges.?

Never a problem like this with expensive replacements, why?I bought a refill kit for ink on my Epson printer, and Win XP Pro doesn't detect the ';full'; cartridges.?
It's not the windows that won't detect it but the Epson printer program that came with it.

You should have specified the model. You might have to purchase the reset chip which , nowadays, come with the refill kit :). Google your model and see if it comes with a reset (I am almost sure it does). Companies are getting smart. ONce you have the reset chip (easy to install), then you can refill your cartrdiges. But take note that you are only good for 3 refills normally. Otherwise , you can damage the print head itself.I bought a refill kit for ink on my Epson printer, and Win XP Pro doesn't detect the ';full'; cartridges.?
I have one suggestion for you, to prevent the printer showing ';no inks'; or “not recognize”, please try to follow these instructions below:

    1) Turn on the printer; take out the cartridges

    2) Turn off the printer for a few minutes

    3) Turn on the printer, when it says ';insert inks';, and then insert the compatible cartridges one by one, making sure the cartridges are sitting completely in the slots.

If it still not working, you have to buy a chip resetter of Epson.
    Howdy

You can thank Epson for that condition. It will not indicate full but it will work OK. They want you to buy their expensive unit, so once it has been empty, this will happen on a lot of them. I guess on some of them they can be reset. The store that refilled your unit should have told you about this.

This has always been a source of my complaint against the printer companies. Alot of them give you a good deal on the printer, but they don't tell you about the price for the cartridge. There are companies that do sell cartridges that are cheaper and will indicate full when they are installed.
If your printer was manufactured after March 2007, it can't be reset. Refills in general are a dangerous practice. They will often work until the one time they not only fail but damage the printer. Read http://ccs-digital.com/refills.asp While you're there, check out their epson cartridges for under $3 which hold 66% more ink. I've been using these for years. No mess, no risk, and I don't even think you save money refilling.
It's the printer. It will not print with refills unless you re-set the chip. You will need to make sure that the one you get is for your model as there are loads of them. This is the sort of thing we are on about.

    http://www.jettecrefill.com/search.asp?s…
Go to http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/ and look for the CISS that fits your printer. I use is for my Epson CX9400, it paid for itself in less than 1 month. The unit will reset the carts when needed.
The chip on the cartridge needs to be reset with every refill in order to the printer to register a full cartridge.

I have a Lexmark P6250 printer. Is it possible to refill the ink cartridges!!?

On the label it says intended for single use only, but I am curious to know whether or not it is possible to refill the cartridges.

Furthermore why are printer companies allowed to get away with not supplying refillable ink cartridges. With all this talk of saving energy I think companies should be forced to make it easier for consumers to refill their ink cartridges. They are ridiculously expensive, and must use a lot of energy to produce and then destroy once used.

With all these internet shops you get on the high street you would think they would offer refill services for ink cartridges, but many of them don't. They could make more money from this. I only know of one shop that does refilling of ink cartridges but it is some disatnce from my house and out of my way!!I have a Lexmark P6250 printer. Is it possible to refill the ink cartridges!!?
I had a good search, yes, for refillable carts...., but found nothing.

I agree with your sentiments re manufacturers.... I 'gave up' with replacing/refilling cartridges, went to a 'Continuous Ink Supply System', like 100ml bottles at side of printer, one for each colour. Initial outlay, 拢25 for the hardware, 拢25 for the ink, ink = 600/13 carts (at 拢6.50 each by Epson)

True, your Lexmark is skip fodder, but, you will save so much its a millstone round your neck.

Best plan, look (use 'Continuous Ink Supply System ' as search term) define which printers can be 'converted' then find your printer, and go.... saving is so great, its cost effective.I have a Lexmark P6250 printer. Is it possible to refill the ink cartridges!!?

What's cheapest- getting refill/bulk replacement ink, re-manufactured ink, or cheap cartridges on ebay?

Shopping around for cheaper ink for my hp officejet 7400 and I cant seem to decide between those 3 options, thank you! What's cheapest- getting refill/bulk replacement ink, re-manufactured ink, or cheap cartridges on ebay?
The cheapest for me is buying re-manufactured ink from http://101inks.excellentabc.com but I have an Espon Printer. So I don't know what the prices are for HP. But the site I listed always had lower prices when I compared them to other cartridge sites. What's cheapest- getting refill/bulk replacement ink, re-manufactured ink, or cheap cartridges on ebay?
it's between bulk ink and ebay if i answer the question you're asking. remans are not much cheaper than oem. cartridges on ebay go dirt cheap, but watch for warranties (or rather, lack of) and quality. quality is not always high when price is low.

if you're okay with getting messy and filling your own, bulk ink is usually a good value.

be aware that your cartridges may not last as long as the ink though. if it's a printhead style hp cartridge, the life is not super-long, so keep that in mind also.
do a search for ones from the channel islands. their the cheapest because you dont pay tax on them!
That depends if you count the cost of the new printer you have to buy when the one you have is ruined by the crap remanufactured ink cartridges you will be using.

Take a look at the L7680 or L7780 HP Office printers. They offer a lot cheaper ink than the old 7410 did.

The OEM ink black cartridge for the 7410 held around 20ml of ink and cost $36.

The black cartridge for the new HP L7780 is $35, but it holds nearly 60ml of ink (enough ink for 2450 pages at 5% coverage). You might look into this printer when your 7410 shoots craps because of the garbage ink you are feeding it.

Anyone know what kind of ink used to refill the HP print cartridge?

I want to refill the cartridge by myself. But I don't know what kind of ink and tool I have to buy. Any instruction. Thank youAnyone know what kind of ink used to refill the HP print cartridge?
The kind of ink is not depicted by the manufacturer of the printer. Almost any refill kit you can purchase today will work in any printer. When you order the refill kit it will come with a small drill bit, probably inside a small wire nut handle. On the top of the cartridge is a breather hole. Use the bit to enlarge the hole so that the syringe fits in it, and fill until the ink no longer is absorbed into the cartridge. You may want to fill it, let it set a bit, then fill it again after the matting absorbes some of the ink. When it is full, you will know, as it will not take any more. To clean up the mess you are going to make have a bottle of acetate (common finger nail polich remover) on hand. It would be a good idea to use the acetate with a lint free towel like Scott's brand and clean the nozzles at the same time. Remeber that acetate will ruin most surfaces like table tops, etc. Hope this helps.Anyone know what kind of ink used to refill the HP print cartridge?
