Can refilling ink cartridges damage your Printer? Is store brand ink cartridges as good as name brands?

I have heard that refilling ink cartridges can damage your printer. Is this true... plus, I do photography and when you refill the ink cartridges, can you still produce the same vivid color and quality as when you buy a new cartridge. Are store brand cartridges as good on color quality as name brands? Can refilling ink cartridges damage your Printer? Is store brand ink cartridges as good as name brands?
Name brands are definately better.

However, I doubt if copy brands will damage anything. In my experience with HP printers the copy brands are low quality. They often fail to work at all.

I always buy branded carts - but from ebay - that way they are often cheaper than copy brands - but still original quality.

One issue with copy brands is colour fading over time. A lot of copy brand printouts fade over time. Can refilling ink cartridges damage your Printer? Is store brand ink cartridges as good as name brands?
refills never work, and can lead to damage, also many of the newer cartridges have a microchip that says when they are empty, and no matter if you refill they will still report empty.

as for the store brand its hit or miss. I've used Pitney Bowes branded cartridges and they seem to have worked fine. I bet the Staple or Office Max version will be very similar as well

Before you buy a printer find out how much ink refills cost and how often people need to change them. Companies like Lexmark seem to sell the cheapest printer only to overcharge on ink. HP seems to be decent and they even promote recycling.
If done wrong then yes they can. as for the same color if done right then it will be just as good as out of the box. I find that the difference in ink really makes no change in the quality of your photos. hope this helps
Buy Dell ink because if you don't the ink fairies will get you
